• Position: Senior Backend Engineer About Pond Pond is an early-stage technology company at the intersection of AI and Web3, dedicated to providing a one-stop platform for global developers—from model training and application development to community-based capital access. We’re backed by top-tier funds such as Archetype and Coinbase Ventures, and over 30 top industry leaders including the founder of NEAR and the co-author of Attention Is All You Need, the foundational paper behind GPT. We believe that in the AI-driven new era of startups, small teams can make a big impact. ⸻ • Design, develop, and maintain core backend systems (primarily in Go) • Lead and optimize large-scale distributed systems architecture • Respond to production issues to ensure system stability and availability • Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS • Promote automation and CI/CD pipeline improvements • Collaborate with product, frontend, and QA teams to accelerate iteration • Contribute to technical decision-making and optimization of legacy systems
Must Have: • 5+ years of backend development experience (preferably in large-scale or cloud service environments) • Proficient in Go with strong software engineering practices • Experience with microservice architecture (design, implementation, maintenance) • In-depth knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC) • Skilled in Linux, Docker/Kubernetes, and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus) • Strong debugging skills and production issue handling • Excellent communication, ownership, and teamwork under pressure • Strong written English and ability to read technical documentation Nice to Have: • Experience designing and evolving large-scale systems • DevOps experience with CI/CD systems • Security architecture and governance background • Open-source contributions or active participation in developer communities Required Skills • System Architecture & Design • Go / Golang • AWS & AWS Cloud Services • Backend Engineering • Software Development • Cloud Service & Cloud Architecture • Linux & Linux System Administration • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) • DevOps / DevRel • Communication & Team Collaboration
