Job Description

Senior Level Designer -Create fun compelling spaces for players to adventure within in a cross platform survival crafting game -Work with designers, artists and engineers to design and implement procedural generation systems for game levels, encounters and puzzles -Drive the level creation process from concept to production -Translate feedback gathered from internal and external sources into iterative improvements -Work with the data analyst and user researcher to improve the game world -Design and implement quest, crafting and character content -Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation -Play the game continuously and constantly strive to improve the design -Keep up with the latest game design across the broader gaming landscape

Job Requirements

-3+ years of video game design experience -1+ years of experience designing first or third person levels for MMOs/MMORPGs, RPGs or survival crafting games -Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to communicate designs both internally and externally to the community -A desire to get everyone on the team and in the community bought in and excited about the game content we are creating -Capable of working efficiently to incorporate feedback and data from many different sources into the design -Ability to both deliver and receive honest constructive feedback in a professional and open manner -Excellent mastery of written and spoken English -Live in a time-zone within 4 hours of Pacific Time for team coordination Nice to haves -Experience with other design verticals including: combat, quests, and other forms of content creation -A Bachelors Degree in Design, Game Design or related field -Knowledge of Unity game engine -Ability to draw and sketch -Ability to build advanced spreadsheet functionality such as joins, complex formulas, etc. -Ability to program to quickly prototype and iterate on ideas -Deep knowledge of many different games across various platforms, genres, and business models

Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $80,000-$125,000
