Staff Software Engineer, Backend Key Accountabilities Coordinate his/her team for assigned projects Develop new data pools and enhance existing ones Be one of our gurus on data acquisition and transformation Participate in software design Collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment based on project-oriented virtual teams Framework, Boundaries of Work, Authority & Decision Making Responsible for developing assigned IT projects within the company Responsible for coordinating all assigned IT production and delivery related matters within project technical boundaries Responsible for the alignment on assigned IT projects with each of the other company involved departments. Assigned projects budgetary responsibility Thinking within substantially diversified, established procedures, standards and precedents; generally non-supervised. Changing priorities or differing situations encountered in the work environment, the incumbent has latitude to consider which among many procedures should be followed, in what sequence, to achieve the required results Covered by practices and procedures which have clear precedents and/or operational guidance Subject to managerial control and review of results
Minimum Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent Minimum Experience 6+ years of experience in data engineering Experience in writing tests, both code and data with a strong desire to champion those standards Experience with several different data storage solutions, SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehouses, data lakes etc Cloud experience (ideally GCP but transferable skills from other cloud providers is also fine) Hard SKills Leadership experience as lead developer or in a similar function Ability to facilitate a solution-oriented approach to develop projects Solid understanding of the mobile development life cycle Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information at all levels Expert in all the data engineering life cycle Expert in Machine Learning/Deep Learning (Tensorflow, Pytorch) Scrum/Agile Development Methodologies and tools knowledge Developing and managing budgets Fluent in python, including tests and at least some of the data libraries Expert of asynchronous task libraries, such as Celery Fluent in SQL (exact flavor doesn’t really matter), with experience in using window functions and the more advanced features Understanding of Docker & Kubernetes Good understanding of data warehouse structuring Full grasp of git Good understanding of blockchain technology, including the Ethereum blockchain and smart contracts Very good understanding of cryptographic algorithms, and implementing them in different products or services Soft Skills Self-motivated and able to work independently and autonomously Ability to identify goals to be pursued, and to influence others towards these same goals Proactive individual Hands-on working style Very good analytical skills Problem solving skills Interpersonal skills Negotiation skills Planning and organizing skills Communication and presentation skills Teamwork skills People management skills Absolutely able to work under pressure Perfect English is a “must”
